Stendhal

"Stendhal" is a data-art piece that smells like an old book. It embodies the feeble balance of rigidity and instability Julien Sorel - the main character from "Le Rouge et le Noir" - is going through: oscillating between hope and despair, living a fulfilled romantic passion while flouting the rules, extricating himself from his modest condition and defying the dominant classism of the time.

Hexacorallia

WebGL experiment

Hexacorallia

Set in a marine environment and concentrating on colourful anemones, this interactive web based experience explores the natural movement of under water fauna. The experiment celebrates the natural beauty of these animals in their environment, during a time of emergency and crisis of our seas.

About

Damien here, technical lead / creative developer / computational designer / generative artisan currently working with Variable, formerly with UNIT9.

My interest in computer graphics, generative art and data visualization is driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

As a media and art practitioner, I conceive parametric systems, interpret datasets and vulgarise them, experiment in both physical and virtual spaces, as well as generate data art, very often via my medium of predilection: code.

Before growing an interest for computational design, I studied interactive development at Gobelins school in Paris.
